Prior to working on my PhD, in 2022 I completed my BA degree in Philosophy at the University of Girona. In 2024, I completed my MA degree in Philosophy of Contemporary Challenges at Tilburg University. Throughout my formative years, I wondered how a new animal ethics theory could be developed to include recent advances in comparative psychology; thereby overcoming and addressing the challenges of existing approaches.
Starting the autumn of 2025, I will work on my doctoral thesis with the goal of reconceptualizing Tom Regan's deontological approach, specifically the concept of being a "subject-of-a-life," in order to develop a new animal ethics theory from a multidimensional scientific theoretical framework. That is, I will review and update Regan's deontological proposal, taking into account advances in the multiple scientific disciplines that concern animal minds. My supervisor are Prof. Dr. Silvia Caprioglio & Prof. Dr. Susana Monsó.
My main research interests are comparative psychology and animal ethics, but I am also fascinated by epistemology, ecofeminism, climate justice, degrowth, and deep ecology.
